Yeah, yeah everybody complains about math not being pertinent to daily life. But the fact is that practicing basic math skills early is crucial to being able to do simple math quickly in your head later in life, to the point where you might not even realize how much you benefited from it because that level of math is too easy for you to consider what it took to get there. I’ll give you the Oregon Trail thing though. I always felt like that game was more meant for middle schoolers then 4th graders.

Total non-issue. We had Math Blaster and Number Muncher when I was in elementary school over 30 years ago. Who gives a shit if they get to do something fun while learning? I swear, some parents get amnesia about their own childhood as soon as they have kids.
