Being “zero waste” means that we adopt steps towards reducing personal waste and minimizing our environmental impact.
Our community places a major focus on the 5 R’s: refuse, reduce, reuse, recycle, and rot. We practice this by reducing consumption, choosing reusable goods, recycling, composting, and helping each other improve.
We also recognize excess CO₂, other GHG emissions, and general resource usage as waste.

Another example of passing the issue to consumers. Who exactly are the manufacturers of plastic bags? If they stop production tomorrow, guarantee it makes no difference, they won’t magically become a clean company. They will switch to whatever product still needs plastic and now we have all the same problems and no convenience of store plastic bags.
If you don’t believe in consumer actions at all, you are in the wrong community. This community is specifically dedicated to actions individuals can take.
