She may not actually be ready. When they are ready it is fast. When they are not ready they physically cannot do it. Pressure on her will absolutely make it worse.
Take a 4 month break and try again.
A new parent class will hit a number of the “how to not drop the baby” items, and give practice on swaddling (which seems dumb, but is great).
