My toddler has his own photo album (a physical one). He likes to look at the photos, take them out, find himself in the photo. I wouldn’t call it captivating but he does like to look at the photos and sometimes asks for the album.


Mobile phones used to have screens the size of today’s smartwatch, but they were monochrome. It’s no obstacle for watching videos or playing games.

The only inconvenience is lack of external input (keyboard), but with Bluetooth, anything can be connected on android and a lot of apps can be installed.


My washing machine is broken, so it takes a screwdriver to open the door 😂 so, maybe break off the handle? 🤣

But seriously, unplugging (or if you’re in the uk, use a switched outlet) may be the best choice. If the socket is in an awkward spot, you could use an extension cord so that the plug is exposed in a place inaccessible to them.

Still, even without electricity, the idea of one being trapped inside is scary as heck!



I use earbuds, they let in a lot of noise but do make it manageable, and i can listen to podcasts while putting baby to sleep. But i usually have it in one ear only.


“hey” literally as soon as I held him for the first time the day he was born. I know it wasn’t intentional, and probably won’t count but the memory will last forever.
