Yes and no specific dates and times do but you still remember all the parts of the journey.

Mine are 9 and 11 now so my timeline may be off…

Cry it out and if that does not work after a few days consult your pediatrician about melatonin.

Oldest did cry it out in a few days and was good. Youngest kept us up for two years until we started melatonin.

I have spent too much time taking to my therapist about this issue and that’s why I try to think positively about my children’s impact on the future.

I can only control so much of my life and I can’t control them but I can pass along my values.

I am still looking hard at a career pivot to a more pro social industry but for the moment my efforts are best providing stability and safety. I can take more risks when they are not as dependent on me.

Our generation can no longer solve the problem in our lifetime so it’s critical that people who understand the challenge have and raise children who can hopefully finish our work.

Do what you can build the best foundation you can and instill the value of service in them. Then hope for the best and flight till the end for things to get better.

Find places with good kid friendly areas. Lots of zoos and children’s museums have toddler friendly play areas. I loved have a stroller and big diaper bag it let me carry extra of everything and a kid could nap while the other played which extended our time out.

Lots of cities and towns in the southern US have drop off daycare where you can leave a kid or two for a few hours while parents get a meal or some time together. Many hotels also have a list of babysitters plus there are online sites that pre screen sitters.
