She’s six years old, lives in Brisbane and might just be one of the best resilience coaches on television.

I wonder what they would say about the owl house in 2025?

Fkin love Bluey. Hey Duggee is class too.

I wonder what teen titans go can teach. I would erase their creators if possible.

I mean… from the scraps of it I’ve seen when spending time with my relatives, it seems like that’s probably because it depicts healthy parenting, which is a somewhat scarce resource in this day and age.

I still stand that bluey is actually a guide to good parenting, pretending to be a kids program.

I’m quite a well educated and trained parent (or thought I was). The number of little tricks we’ve picked up from bluey is almost embarrassing.

It’s a show that when I’m losing my patience i can go “what would bandit do?” And remind myself to be a good dad and live for my kids

I’ve done that more than a few times. It also includes “how to be a good husband, while being a fun dad” along with specific examples for both parents and children.

The hand touching, to get attention, without interrupting was a life (sanity) saver.

It’s one of the best family shows of all time, no cap.

No captain for sure, the show is definitely bustling.

I’m not taking advice from a cartoon dog.

My daughter is outgrowing Bluey. I think I enjoy it more than she does these days. Haha!

Isn’t this millennial cocomelon?

No.

Cocomelon is the anti-Bluey: fast cuts designed to keep children’s attention, no themes or storylines other than just keeping attention.

Bluey has stories, uses negative space/pauses/unsaid implications for artistic effect and emphasis, and shows actual character growth and development over episodes and seasons. It teaches kids how to interact with other people, and it gently teaches parents ideas about how to be a good parent of young children.

Unpopular opinion but Cocomelon was fine for my kids. They didn’t get addicted and it didn’t make them act crazy. They just sang some nursery rhymes and practiced their numbers and letters. I don’t understand the hate.

Yeah I don’t think it’s a big deal either. I don’t think Bluey was bad either, but nostalgia makes for great pink-tinted glasses

The show airs on local TV here during the afternoons. Yesterday I caught 2 episodes, Exercise (where dad just wanted to do his exercises, but the kids “interrupt” him, so they play with him and he exercises as part of their play) and Vacation (ends up being an episode teaching mom that she can relax while being there with her family)

I’m not a dad, but fuck me if watching it doesn’t help understand kids and parents, while also getting some ideas

I’ve watched 150 episodes of Bluey and have learned that a cartoon can make a grown man cry.

I strive to be as good a parent as Bandit and Chili are.

The episode that Bingo is having that wild space dream was legitimately visually impressive.

Episode where it’s inferred (at least, I don’t remember them directly stating it) that Chili’s sister can’t have children and it bothers her is the one that got me watery-eyed.

On the other hand, the hand puppet unicorn had me pissing myself laughing. “What’s your favorite thing to eat?!” “Children…” “Oh…” “Just kidding!”

The staff on Bluey really care about the program, and it shows.

Episode where it’s inferred (at least, I don’t remember them directly stating it) that Chili’s sister can’t have children and it bothers her is the one that got me watery-eyed.

I’m very wary of seeing her sister now. First episode was that one and it got us bawling. Then she showed up at the wedding with a baby bump and we lost it again. She is two for two.

I have a t-shirt with Unichorse on it that says “And why should I care?”

It’s a hit with parents and kids alike ❤️

Did you put together that Chili had a miscarriage? (The Show, Sleepytime)

Yeah. And that she lost her mom. Chili always gets me crying with her backstory.

Oh I cry so easily and I’m pretty sure I’ve cried at more Bluey episodes than not. My kids are always asking me why I’m crying.

Watch Bojack Horseman, you’ll see what cartoons can do to grown humans

It definitely made me cry! For very different reasons, though…

The one with Chili’s sister who can’t have kids is a rough one. I did not expect that from a children’s cartoon.

I bought the whole series on dvd for my family because we need it forever and I’m old. It was so good.

Bluey is such a fantastic show.

While we’re on the topic of series that are good for kids’ resiliency, I’d like to give a shout out to the Pete the Cat books. He doesn’t let minor things get him down, and whether it’s mud on his new shoes or buttons flying off his clothes, he handles things with a cool, calm nature. Nothing rattles Pete the Cat.

When my son was small, I think I probably had every Pete the Cat book. Such an amazing series, I’m glad you mentioned it.

They’re great first time reader books too!

That’s great, my kid watch Cailloi and that show turned him into a brat. We had to stop letting him watch that show. Once I started to pay attention I realized that show gave kids bad habits. That character was spoiled.

Luckily my boys hated that whiney little shit. Even they picked up that he was annoying and bad.

Bluey is the anti calliou.
